About Fit & Focused
Classes for the Community With the Community.
Class instructor, Deb Harrison has been a qualified Physiotherapist, Fitness instructor and Pilates instructor for 30 years and has a passion for your well being.
Maintaining strength and flexibility is vitally important for quality of life as we age. This is the time to start listening to your body and be proactive.
“Use it or Lose it” (to coin a phrase) is very real.
Research is supporting Pilates, joint work, resisted exercises, stretching and brain plasticity. Studies show that these exercises should improve our overall health and well being.
We all need to strive to keep our body and brain active, a holistic approach.
Classes are mat based and incorporate posture and body awareness, theraband, balance, and use of Chi or Pilates Balls (supplied).
On Friday mornings we switch things up a little bit and incorporate some coordination and aerobic moves during warm up.
Monday 6.45 pm - 7.45 pm
Friday 9.15 am - 10.15 am
Cost $10 per class.
At the end of financial year all your class contribution money is donated to worthwhile organisations within the community.
Deb Harrison has been a physiotherapist for 40 years working in private practice in the local area.
30 years ago she started community fitness classes at WPUC after doing a fitness leaders course at TAFE. She felt this was a way to give back to the community by offering affordable classes then donating that money back to local charities which the participants choose.
In 2012 she completed a certificate 4 in Mat Pilates so now the classes have a Pilates focus with physio knowledge and input.
Deb played State and Masters netball and now cycles often participating in the Tour Down Under.
She enjoys going to the beach and gardening.
